Process of Treatment
The first appointment begins with an initial consultation (medical history) followed by the treatment. It usually takes 60–90 minutes. During the consultation, the patient describes their symptoms as well as their concerns and expectations regarding treatment. This is followed by a few questions about overall health in order to build a holistic picture. Follow-up appointments typically last up to 45 minutes.
A treatment series of five sessions is generally recommended. The total number of sessions needed will become clearer over time. Five-Element Acupuncture is a highly individual form of acupuncture and is tailored to each person. After five sessions, it is usually possible to assess the effects achieved so far and the likelihood of further improvement with continued treatment.
After a successful treatment series, the intervals between sessions are often gradually extended, with the aim of stabilising the results. You also have the option to come in for an introductory meeting without treatment. This gives you the opportunity to get to know me first and then decide whether you would like to begin treatment. This meeting is free of charge.
Health Insurance / Cost Coverage
Treatment costs are largely covered by supplementary health insurance plans for alternative or complementary medicine. Please check coverage with your insurer in advance (a few insurers do not accept the EMR accreditation criteria).
The hourly rate is CHF 150.
